Three things spotted during Mauricio Pochettino's press conference ahead of Chelsea vs Brentford

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino held his obligatory press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Brentford tomorrow.

Mauricio Pochettino knows Brentford are unbeaten in their last four league games against Chelsea but appeared calm and relaxed as he prepared for the game against the Bees tomorrow afternoon.

The Blues have been hit with news that Christopher Nkunku would be out for a few more weeks but there is some good news on the horizon with Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella both likely to return to the squad.

Fresh from coming from behind to beat Leeds United and secure a spot in the last eight of the FA Cup, here are some of the things LondonWorld writer Rahman Osman picked up from this afternoon's session at Cobham.

He came 10 minutes late

For the second week, Pochettino's presser was at 12:30 pm, but he managed to arrive 10 minutes late. Knowing he was in danger of being labelled a late runner, the first thing he did was to say 'This time it wasn't my fault'.

The Chelsea press manager sat beside him, then backed him up to say yes as if to say it was something beyond their control, but all was calm after that and the presser wen't ahead as normal.

Fresh shave

The Chelsea manager had a fresh shave just before the presser and looked incredibly happy when told that he looked so young. As the discussions on how he looked died down Pochettino explained why he had keep up with looking neat and tidy always. The Chelsea boss said : “I think it's good, to show respect to you, shower, shave, and perfume, it's too show respect because we are upset when the players arrive to the restaurant after training not showering and we say come on that is not good because we need to go to the shower and come to the restaurant, the lunch, and that is the same.

"I always try to arrive here with good aspect, sometimes because I don’t have time because when I have training directly to here, but today in 15 minutes it was possible to shave to shower, everything.”

Almost empty room

Unlike the presser ahead of the game against Liverpool and Leeds, this one had just a hand full of journalist outside the normal sky, Premier League and paper journalist who attended.
