Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has described Harry Kane as a great professional but did not want to get carried away getting into too many details about the Tottenham striker.

Chelsea suffered from a lack of goals last season, bagging only 38 goals and finishing a disappointing lowly 12th, the first time they have finished that low in almost 30 years and have brought in Mauricio Pochettino to try and rescue the club.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been linked to Kane who bagged 30 goals despite Tottenham also finishing eighth in the league, with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland being the only one to have scored more goals than him.

Pochettino who spoke to the press for the first time since he took over the Chelsea job said: “I don’t like to talk about players in another club, but you are talking about one of the greatest, one of the best strikers in the world.

“It’s not fair to talk, it’s not fair to say nothing. People are not stupid, fans are not stupid, they are so clever and they know my relationship with him was always amazing.

“I saw him when he was young, grow up and achieve all he was achieving and of course, we have a great relationship.”
