Man Utd 'reach out' to £37m man after criticism over post with Chelsea star
Chelsea star Alejandro Garnacho found himself at the centre of a storm at Old Trafford.
Manchester United ‘reached out’ to offer support to winger Amad Diallo following the win over Chelsea last weekend.

The Red Devils beat the London outfit 2-1 with Chelsea being reduced to 10 men after just five minutes when goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was shown a red card. Manchester United lost a player themselves with Casemiro sent off on the stroke of half time.
Ruben Amorim’s side still picked up all three points thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro with Trevoh Chalobah grabbing a late consolation for Chelsea.
Manchester United reach out to Amad Diallo
There was no chance for Enzo Maresca to field Alejandro Garnacho against his former club, having been forced to make early tactical changes due to the sending off. Chelsea purchased the forward from their Premier League rivals for £40 million this summer.
The 21-year-old, who has played just 11 minutes for Chelsea in the Premier League since making the move, was given a hostile reception by fans at his former club. Despite not making it onto the pitch, the winger was booed by the Old Trafford faithful when seen warming up on the touchline.
After the match, Amad posted a photo of himself posing with Garnacho’s Chelsea shirt alongside his former teammate. The Blues man was holding Amad’s shirt in the snap.
The Manchester United man was subject to abuse online from some supporters for the friendly picture with his opposition number and reacted by deleting all of his Instagram posts and all but one of his posts on social media platform X. The Sun reports that Manchester United took the decision to personally check in with the player and offer support as a result to the online backlash.
Enzo Maresca explains Chelsea changes
It is added that Amad is understood to be okay and expected to keep his place in the side for the trip to Brentford this weekend, having played the full 90 minutes against Chelsea.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea manager Maresca confirmed that the lack of minutes for Garnacho at Old Trafford was not down to the hostile atmosphere. He said: “No, also because he was ready, and he was ready to go on, and then Wes [Fofana] asked for a change.
“The reason why we changed Pedro and Estevao was because they attack with the five players always. And we defend with the four, and we can defend with the four when we are 11 vs 11, but 11 against 10, I think we need to defend with the width, so we decided to go with the back-five, this is the reason why.
“And then the other one, Garna, he was ready to go on, but then Wes asked for the change, because he was tired after a long time, so we changed and we decided to go for Tyrique, and the idea was to give Garnacho minutes.”
