Leicester City manager  Brendan Rodgers is anticipating a fourth bid from Chelsea for defender Wesley Fofana ahead of the weekend’s Premier League game.

The French defender is still training with the junior team having told manager Brendan Rodgers his head is not in the right place following Chelsea’s interest.

The Blues had an improved bid in the region of £70 million rejected by Leicester on Tuesday and now Thomas Tuchel and board must decide if they still want the 21-year-old or look elsewhere.

Leicester are holding up for £80 million, believing the defender has the qualities and is at the right age with his best years still ahead of him.

Chelsea have already  invested in former Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Brighton and Hove Albion defender Marc Cucurella this summer.

But there is still the need to still turbocharge the back line with Reece James slotting in at right centre-back in the first three games of the season.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, admits he knows how football is business for both clubs and players, and confirmed Fofana is training with the under-21 and would not be involved this weekend.

He told reporters ahead of the Premier League game against Chelsea: “He won’t be available for the weekend. He has trained with our Under-21 squad.

“I’m not sure. It’s not my concentration. I can’t lose energy thinking so much about it. It’ll be between the clubs. We have to continue to work with what we have.”

Chelsea will hope to put the setback they suffered at Elland Road behind them when they host Leicester this weekend at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester themselves are without a win in their first three games of the season with two defeats and draw against Brentford on the opening day.
