Jadon Sancho and two other Chelsea players currently training separately
Three Chelsea players are said to be training separately currently.
A number of Chelsea players are said to be training separately but for very different reasons that saw players in the ‘bomb squad’ over the summer. Enzo Maresca has come in for plenty of criticism for his handling of players who he did not see as part of his plans following his arrival in the summer.

Quick decisions were made on some, including the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Trevoh Chalobah, while others like Raheem Sterling found out after the US pre-season tour that they would be moved on. Those players were sent to train alone by Maresca as part of a so-called bomb squad, although there have been compromises when it comes to players who were not able to seal exits.
Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka have been welcomed back to the first-team squad, with Maresca hoping to keep harmony around Cobham despite his so-called ‘ruthless’ methods. With things having settled down, there have been fresh reports of players training separately, but there is nothing sinister behind the move.
The latest players training alone are Jadon Sancho, Romeo Lavio and Malo Gusto, but with good reason. As detailed by Chelsea’s Fifth Stand app, the latter two are training separately as part of the recovery plan following recent injuries.
Meanwhile, Sancho, who put in a man of the match substitute appearance against Bournemouth over the weekend, providing an assist on his debut, is said to be lacking in match fitness after a lack of summer action. With Chelsea wanting to make sure he builds fitness without being at risk of injury, the winger is largely working separately to get to where he needs to be to play a full 90 minutes. As things stand, the winger is likely to be restricted to around an hour as he continues to build his fitness levels.
