Man City’s new signing have strengthened their attempts at another Premier League title ahead of next season and the other Big Six clubs will no doubt feel the full effects of his arrival.

Erling Haaland has an impressive 61 goals in 66 league appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season - making the £51.2 million release clause City paid look an unbelievable bargain.

The striker, who has become one of the world’s best in recent years, cost Pep Guardiola’s side less than Arsenal paid for Nicolas Pepe, less than Chelsea paid for Romelu Lukaku and less than Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire.

If the 21-year-old replicates his Bundesliga form in England then he could prove to be an absolute steal - but, while his fee is relatively low, he is still set to become of the league’s highest earners.
