Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd have told Chelsea how to complete Jadon Sancho transfer after latest bids
Manchester United have reportedly told Chelsea what they must do to get a Jadon Sancho deal over the line ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline. The Blues are said to be pushing to land the Red Devils winger who has been welcomed back into the fold by Erik ten Hag after last season’s bust up.
Sancho and Ten Hag fell out and publicly criticised each other last season, leading the England winger re-joining Borussia Dortmund on loan, ultimately reaching the Champions League final and finishing as runners-up to Real Madrid.

Hide AdTen Hag has said he is willing to keep hold of Sancho. Speaking on Friday, he said when asked whether Sancho would be staying: “As I know, yes. He is a player in our squad and we are happy with him. We need depth in the squad, we have to play many games til Jan. The new Europa League format, after the break we will play every third day and need options.” Since then, Chelsea have only increased their efforts to land the winger, most recently tabling two types of offers to give United a choice of transfer format. Transfer ‘insider’ Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “EXCL: Chelsea have presented two bids for Jadon Sancho! One proposal is loan with buy option clause, the other one with obligation to buy. Of course on different terms. Chelsea also reached total agreement with Jadon Sancho on personal terms! Up to Man United now.”
On the back of that, United are said to have told Chelsea that a deal will not be struck until their “to buy option” conditions that would be included in a loan deal are met. Romano added in a later tweet: “Manchester United insist on their conditions to be met on buy clause and salary coverage in order to give green light on Jadon Sancho deal. Agreement Sancho-Chelsea done, agreement Chelsea-United… not yet.”
This one could go late into the night.
