Fabrizio Romano issues Chelsea and Man Utd 'here we go' as Arsenal in 'final stages' of Raheem Sterling transfer

Arsenal are expected to announce the signing of Raheem Sterling ahead of Friday night’s transfer deadline. The Gunners have pressed ahead with a winger signing thanks to unwanted fringe man Reiss Nelson attracting late interest on deadline day.
Mikel Arteta and Edu have not found this summer’s transfer window as smooth sailing as last summer when they splashed out more than £200million to land new signings like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. Working with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules hanging over their heads, Arsenal have managed to snap up the likes or Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino, with David Raya also joining on a permanent deal to total a spending bill of around £100million.

Other loan exits have also helped, while Neto has been signed on loan from Bournemouth to replace Ramsdale, saving Arsenal some cash along the way.
Coming into this window, Arteta wanted to add depth to his wing positions while also keeping an eye out for the right kind of striker deal, though it was never going to be easy to take care of even one of those positions, let alone both. Thankfully for the Gunners, the perfect opportunity landed on their laps.
Across town, Raheem Sterling was told to leave by Chelsea after Enzo Maresca cast him aside, and desperate to offload the England winger’s large wages, the Blues have been left willing to strike a deal with their rivals in the Gunners. Fabrizio Romano says that deal is now in the final stages, with a season-long loan deal set to be approved by both clubs.
He tweeted: “Raheem Sterling and Arsenal, deal at the final stages.” Sterling will add competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. It’s not clear how much of a loan fee Arsenal will pay or their loan contributions at this stage.

As for Chelsea, they look to have found an instant replacement for Sterling with Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho set to put pen-to-paper on a loan deal that will become permanent at a later stage.
Romano has tweeted: “BREAKING: Jadon Sancho to Chelsea, here we go! Loan deal with obligation to buy clause agreed between the clubs. Sancho already said yes as he wanted Chelsea move, deal now agreed between all parties. Man United accepted the proposal and deal is now set to he signed.
