Sancho battle

Juventus are said to be Chelsea’s main opponent in a race to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. According to Niccolo Ceccarini, Juventus will ‘go hard’ to sign the winger ahead of the deadline. Sancho is believed to be available for the right price.

Juventus are set to offload Federico Chiesa to Liverpool to free up wage space, and that will put them in position to pursue a Sancho deal. United’s interest in Chelsea man Raheem Sterling could give the Blues an advantage, but much will depend on whether the Blues are actually serious about landing the winger.

Chilwell latest

United are said to be stepping up their efforts to sign Chelsea veteran Ben Chilwell, who has been deemed surplus to requirements. The Independent say the two clubs have been in talks over the last couple of days, and there is a chance a deal could be done before the deadline.

The report claims any Chilwell deal would be done separate to a possible deal involving Sterling and Jadon Sancho. Chilwell has struggled with injury during his time at Stamford Bridge and at United he would be competing with another injury prone left-back in Luke Shaw.

Spurs backed for Forest man

Tottenham could be set to move for a midfielder late in the window with Postecoglou potentially adding more creativity. Nottingham Forest man Morgan Gibbs-White has been dubbed as a potential option.

Journalist Dean Jones told Ranks FC Podcast: “One thing I have been told a few times if that they want someone with power from the midfield. Morgan Gibbs-White is someone they like but they like him as more of a number eight breaking out, not as a traditional number eight. They like that and they like Joao Gomes at Wolves.”
