Chelsea will hope they can build on their last-gasp winner against Manchester United and take all three points against struggling Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. This has been a positive week for Chelsea as they moved from 10th on the league table to 9th without kicking a ball.
Brighton’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal meant Chelsea have gained momentum and are now just five points behind seven-placed West Ham United with two games in hand.
The picture looks really good now for the Blues with players speaking about the need to get European football and finishing on the high after injuries and form robbed them of the consistency they need.
On the injury front, there has been some positive news too with Trevoh Chalobah fit after getting a run out against Manchester United, he influenced the positive outcome at Stamford Bridge in midweek.
Chelsea have got a real naivety about them defensively but they still found a way to win, and they have still got a sniff of finishing high enough to qualify for Europe - which would be really remarkable given the season they have had.
Sheffield have won only three league games all season and they look like a team that has come to terms with their fate of going down to the Championship. So anything but all three points for Chelsea will be seen as a massive letoff for Pochettino’s side.
