Confirmed Chelsea starting XI vs Manchester United: Pochettino makes two changes as key defender misses out

Chelsea have lost only once in their last 15 games at Stamford Bridge.

Trevoh Chalobah and Robert Sanchez have all recovered from the injuries that kept them out of the game against Burnley and have made the squad for this all-important Premier League game against Manchester United

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in the top three teams for the average number of big chances created per game in the Premier League, yet are 14th for scoring those big chances, with a 37.5% ratio.

They come into this game 12th on the league table but could jump into the top 10 if they can secure all three points against a Manchester United side who have not lost at Stamford Bridge in their last seven visits.

Both teams will feel they can win this one especially Chelsea who have been good against teams in the top half of the league table. Their best performances have come against teams like Manchester City and Liverpool at home, so you’ll expect they are up for this one.

Manchester United are missing centre-backs Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez with the Argentinian likely to have played his last game this season after his latest muscular setback. Chelsea’s season has also been massively impacted by injuries with club captain and key defender Reece James missing for the last three months.

Wesley Fofana will be lucky to play again this season while it has now been confirmed that Romeo Lavia, the midfielder signed from Southampton last summer will not play again, he made only one appearance for the club.

It has not been smooth sailing so far a win here could lead to a strong finish so with that in mind, this is the team the Chelsea boss has named for the game.
