Chelsea began life under Graham Potter with a 1-1 draw at home to Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League last night.

The Blues took the lead early in the second-half through Raheem Sterling, only for Noah Okafor to equalise for the visitors four minutes from time.

Next up for the London club is a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on 1st October, with it yet to be known when their games against Fulham and Liverpool will be rescheduled for.

Moses Caicedo is a player who Potter knows very well from managing at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The highly-rated midfielder has been a key player for the Seagulls over the past couple of seasons.

Speaking about his former manager’s exit, he has admitted ‘nobody would turn down an offer’ from Chelsea, as per reporter Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Chelsea wanted striker

The Blues were keen on Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko over the summer.

He scored 11 goals in all competitions for the Austrian side last season and has managed to find the net four times so far this term.

Their sporting director, Christoph Freund, has told Sky Sports Austria: “We spoke a lot more a month or two ago because they were interested in signing Sesko.

“The new owners are interested in how we do things with young players, how we integrate them into the first team.”

Former winger training

Former Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair is back training with the club.

He is a free agent following his departure from Championship team Preston North End at the end of the last campaign.
