Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed £89million January signing  Mykhailo Mudryk who has missed the last two games is back in training and could play a part in today’s game.

Chelsea will also be able to hand Cole Palmer his Premier League debut after completing his signing from Manchester City on transfer deadline day.

The £40million signing turned down a chance to fight for his position at Manchester City but will have to be carefully introduced as Chelsea look to return to the top of the Premier League table.

Pochettino said after confirming the signing of the forward: “He is a young, talented player. Of course, he decided to come because he expects to play maybe more and be more important here [than at Man City], but that is not the most important thing.

“He wanted to come because he had seen the Chelsea project is for him. He wants to improve his game and he needs to show he is better than his team-mates and deserves to play and find his place.”

Chelsea have signed a total of 12 players this summer, taking their spending since the new owners to almost £1billion but they have also sold almost 11 players, raising almost £250million.

Last season they finished 12 in the Premier League but with the new investment and manager Mauricio Pochettino, they’ll be hoping to get back to at least a top four in the Premier League.

They will be looking for their first back-to-back league wins for the first time in five months when they take on Nottingham Forest later this afternoon.
