Chelsea predicted starting lineup vs Manchester City as Pochettino drops £30m star for Premier League clash

Chelsea's recent form will be tested when they visit the Etihad this weekend to play Manchester City.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says his team will have to be brave when they travel to the Etihad this weekend.

Pochettino's team played out an entertaining 4-4 draw in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge back in November and if that is anything to go by this should be a cracker.

Pochettino confirmed Thiago Silva has joined the treatment table after picking up what looked like a hamstring injury at Selhurst Park. He adds to the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Lesley Ugochukwu and Romeo Lavia who will not be travelling to the Etihad.

The Chelsea manager told reporters: "Yes, minor injury [to Silva]. He's out for tomorrow. He's not available. Afterwards, we need to assess him."

The Chelsea boss also said Malo Gusto and Levi Colwill who both looked uncomfortable at the end against Crystal Palace will be ready for the game. He added: "They are okay. They have recovered well and are available tomorrow."

Chelsea are winless in seven league and cup games against Manchester City since beating them 1-0 in the 2021 Champions League final while City are vying for a 12th consecutive win in all competitions and a seventh successive league victory.

Both teams won their last game coming into this one with Chelsea beating Aston Villa 3-1 to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup and coming from behind to win at Selhurst against Crystal Palace.

The Blues will hope they get all three points to keep their hopes of finishing in a European spot alive as well as serve as a massive boost ahead of their League Cup game against Liverpool next week

Here is the Chelsea team we anticipate Pochettino will put out there tomorrow with Noni Madueke who was signed for £30million dropping out:
