Chelsea will take on Crystal Palace in desperate need of three points after a disappointing performance against Wolves just before Christmas. Manager Mauricio Pochettino knows another off day at the office could lead to a toxic atmosphere at Stamford Bridge.
Palace themselves are not doing that well, with Roy Hodgson's side without a win in their last seven games, but were unfortunate not to take all three points against Brighton, having led for most of the game but being pegged back late on by a Danny Welbeck header.
Chelsea missed the industry of Moises Caicedo at Wolves due to illness according to Pochettino and his partner Enzo Fernandez has been battling a hernia issue, Pochettino confirmed the former Benfica star will miss the game against the Eagles.
There is also the issue of Lesley Ugochukwu who was rushed back to help the midfield at the Molineux, but he's also picked up another injury and is set for some more time on the treatment table.
Injuries haven't helped the growth of the team since the Argentinian manager took over, but he did have Romeo Lavia in the squad for the first time this season over the weekend, the former Southampton man will now be hoping that the extra days of training would have convinced his manager to hand him his debut.
So with the Blues needing a win and having to deal with injuries and form, here is the entire list of injured players and when they are expected to return.

Not expected back until mid January.
2. Moises Caicedo
Missed Wolves defeat due to illness but likely to return for the game against Crystal Palace tomorrow.
3. Reece James
Ruled out for the next three months after his surgery. Expected back in March.
4. Lesley Ugochukwu
Picked up a new injury after being rushed back. Would be lucky to play again this year.
