Chelsea’s pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been slowed by a robbery attack the striker suffered this week.

The attack has left the former Arsenal forward with a fractured jaw and bruises which will keep him out for the next couple of weeks even if he was to make his move to Chelsea before the transfer window shuts this week.

According to LondonWorld.com’s sources, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was hit in the face with an iron as he sought to defend himself during a robbery attack at his home.

The injury to his jaw is likely to keep him out for at least three weeks in a massive blow to Thomas Tuchel who is desperate to add him to his attacking options for the season.

Chelsea have lost two of their last three games in the Premier League but have already responded to the defeat to Southampton by signing Leicester City’s highly-rated Wesley Fofana.

The France defender is expected to learn from Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly who are both experienced campaigners.

Earlier in the summer Chelsea spent £50 million on Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling, with the English forward scoring three goals in his last two games.

Brighton and Hove Albion defender Marc Cucurella also signed for £60 million as competition for Ben Chilwell who suffered an ACL injury last season and is now just working his way back.

The Blues will take on West Ham on Saturday hoping to return to winning ways after the horror of the visit to the St Mary’s.
