Enzo Maresca will be pleased with what he saw in the United States, and he will want to see more signings made between now and the start of the new season. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Eze ‘talks’

Chelsea are said to have contacted Crystal Palace over the possible signing of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who is expected to move on this summer. The Blues are about to sell Noni Madueke to Arsenal for around £52million, and they will have to replace the England international.

Simon Phillips has claimed that Madueke’s impending departure has led Chelsea to have ‘new talks’ over a possible deal for Eze . Eze is said to have a release clause worth around £65million, although that clause does reportedly include add-ons.

Rogers claim

Chelsea will reportedly turn to Aston Villa talent Morgan Rogers if they wind up selling Nicolas Jackson, with the striker having been linked with a move away in recent weeks.

Journalist Matt Law said on The London Is Blue podcast: “I’m not told by anyone at Chelsea, but I’m told by people on the outside that if Villa do go for Nicolas Jackson, it will immediately trigger a bid for Morgan Rogers from Chelsea.”

Colwill on Chelsea momentum

Levi Colwill is hoping Chelsea can build on the momentum built up in the FIFA Club World Cup. He told the club website: “This is the biggest trophy I’ve ever won. I think the Club World Cup will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it. It was a statement victory and, in the future, if we keep winning trophies then everyone will give us the love that we deserve. But I guess we’ll only know that in the future. I think we’re ready and now next season, we'll see.”

“We’re a team [built] in the Chelsea identity. You stick together no matter what. I think players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, they started that and we’re carrying it on. They were all amazing players, who won a lot, but we’ve got the best players in our team, young players, and that’s our plan as well: to win the biggest trophies for Chelsea.

“We’re definitely capable of doing it. I think we’ve shown that. Everyone said that PSG were the best team in the world, but we won 3-0. The performance was amazing and we should get the credit we deserve. And it's not an upset because we know how good we are. If other people don’t believe that then hopefully we have changed their minds now."
