Chelsea transfer round-up: Three-time league winner considered as Blues demand sale
All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they look to add more talent to their squad.
Chelsea were back in FIFA Club World Cup action on Tuesday night, and meanwhile, the work continues in the United States and back at home to get new signings over the line. The Blues have already been busy, and it’s expected we will see more deals go through over the coming weeks.

It’s also likely Enzo Maresca will bid goodbye to some of his unwanted players, while he will likely take a ruthless approach with some of his key men as he looks to upgrade. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.
Rodrygo links
Chelsea are said to be interested in a move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo amid talk aplenty that Noni Madueke could leave. Graeme Bailey of The Boot Room has reported that the Brazilian is among those the Blues are look at as potential replacements.
Arsenal were previously being linked with Rodrygo, while a number of other top European clubs are also said to be tracking the situation. Though, Rodrygo has made it clear in interviews this summer that he would prefer to stay where he is, while Los Blancos would likely demand a huge fee of close to £80million. Rodrygo has three league titles, two Champions League titles and many other honours to his name.
Chukwuemeka latest
Chelsea could sell Carney Chukwuemeka this summer as they look to bring in at least £50million to comply with UEFA rules and register their new signings. Chukwuemeka spent last season - and indeed this summer - on loan with Borussia Dortmund, and there are reports that the German side are interested in pulling off another loan deal.
But The Athletic say Chelsea are not particularly interested in striking a loan deal. A deal is described as difficult to pull off at this stage because the Blues are only interested in agreeing a permanent move.
Keown’s CWC criticism
Martin Keown has taken aim at FIFA over the Club World Cup amid Chelsea’s participation this summer. He told TalkSport: “There’s too many games. It’s time for the powers that be to start listening to the players. I’m not a big fan of this competition, I’ve only watched highlights of it. But I will watch the semi-finals and final because I need to watch a little bit of football. I think as a fan we need breathers as well before we come back to it.
“It feels like football greed all of this where we need to have more and more of the same thing. I’m not saying this competition doesn’t work because I like to see elite players. But the players need a rest and also the viewer needs a rest. Nobody really wants to watch this and it appears that nobody really wants to play in it. When Man City went out they looked quite relieved to me to be going out. At least now they get a little bit of extra rest. It all starts again in a few weeks with the Premier League. We need to find another slot for this competition because I do believe it’s going to carry on, we’re going to see it every four years.”
