Chelsea transfer round-up: Blues to complete deal in 'days' as attacker asking price named

Chelsea now turn their attention to Tuesday’s FIFA Club World Cup clash with Fluminense after defeating Palmeiras on Friday night in Philadelphia. The Blues advanced thanks to goals from Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto either side of a clever Estevao Willian goal.
Enzo Maresca’s men now have a genuine shot of winning the competition, and meanwhile, the work on new signings continues. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Hide AdGittens deal to be announced soon
Chelsea are reportedly expecting to complete their deal to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in a matter of days. According to Standard Sport, the Blues are expecting to sign Gittens early next week after negotiations that came to a head before this weekend.
The report claims the deal will cost £55million including add-ons, with other reports having suggested the fee was more. The Blues needed a winger this summer, and so the arrival of Bynoe-Gittens will tick a major box. Though, there is talk Noni Madueke could leave, and that would mean Maresca needs to sign another winger this summer.
Nkunku asking price
Chelsea are now said to have named their price for Christopher Nkunku, with the forward expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. Nkunku has been part of the FIFA Club World Cup, but with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro having arrived, and with Bynoe-Gittens expected to join, there will be little space in the front line.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Frenchman, and according to The Mirror, Chelsea want £35million to agree a deal this summer. The Blues spent £52million on the forward two years ago, but Maresca is not a fan of Nkunku, and it seems a cut-price sale is inevitable.

Hide AdMaresca on Neto
Maresca dedicated the Palmeiras win to Pedro Neto, who played despite losing close friend Diogo Jota, who died in a car crash this week. Maresca said after the game: “We spoke with Pedro yesterday, this morning and this afternoon and it was completely his personal decision whether to play or not to play. He made a fantastic effort to play this game, to be with his team-mates, and we really appreciate what he has done.
“I just said to the players that this win is especially for him because we know how close he was [with Jota] and the effort that he has done. “So no doubt that we really appreciate what he decided in the end.”. On the game itself, Maresca added: “Personally, I think in the first half we were in control of the game. We didn't concede anything.
“We scored the goal and we could have scored some more goals and then they were better than us and they scored. The game changed a bit, the dynamic changed, but then I think in the last 20 to 25 minutes we were in control again and I think we deserved to win the game without being lucky.”
