Chelsea 'told' full conditions of Victor Osimhen transfer with agreement 'on the verge'
Chelsea are said to be close to striking a deal with Napoli for superstar striker Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea are said to be close to agreeing a deal for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen, already knowing what it will take to get a deal done this summer. The Blues have spent huge amounts over recent summers, but this window has had a more balanced look so far due to some pricey departures earlier in the window.
Having said that, the Blues know their spending bill is likely to be firmly in the red after the signing of Pedro Neto and the expected signing of a new striker. Enzo Maresca wants a new frontman, and one of the highest calibre no less. That’s despite Chelsea spending big money to land Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku in the last year or so.
Napoli superstar Osimhen is now reportedly a prime target, with the 25-year-old expected to move on this summer. Fortunately for the Blues, they already have a way of reducing the £100million asking price for the Nigeria international, well aware that Napoli want to sign outcast frontman Romelu Lukaku, and the Belgian wants to sign for Napoli in a bid to work with former boss Antonio Conte.
But it’s going to take more than just Lukaku to get a deal done, with The Sun reporting that Chelsea re ‘on the verge’ of striking a deal after being told exactly what it’s going to take to sign Osimhen this summer - asides from putting up the huge asking price in cash.
As well as Lukaku, Chelsea have reportedly been told they must offer up Cesare Casadei and a further £39million. Chelsea only spent around £15million including add-ons on Casadei, who spent last season on loan with Leicester City, winning the Championship.
But with Lukaku valued between £30million and £35million by Chelsea, and Casadei being worth £20million at the very most, the Blues may well feel they are in for a bargain for Osimhen, potentially saving around £10million on the cash asking price. Osimhen has 65 goals in 108 league appearances at Napoli and is already recognised as one of the best strikers in world football at 25 years of age.
