Spurs set for windfalls

Tottenham are set to welcome a transfer windfall or two this summer, with Bryan Gil among those to be offloaded, with talks already ongoing, according to transfer ‘insider’ Fabrizio Romano.

He tweeted: “Girona have opened talks with Tottenham for Bryan Gil, set to leave Spurs this summer. Initial discussions took place, as @pokeefe1 and @JaviHipo reported. Bryan Gil and Sergio Reguilón will both leave #THFC.”

Adeyemi blow

Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi does not appear to be for sale despite reported interest from Chelsea. According to recent reports, the Blues are pursuing a deal for the winger, who was reportedly for sale for just £35million.

But Dortmund chief CEO Lars Ricken has denied such claims, saying: “Every day there is a name in the press that supposedly wants to leave, and there are talks of how much we will earn by selling them. We’ve never opened the door or mentioned any figures, so that’s not an issue for us at all.” Chelsea are still said to be interested, and with Dortmund known for being a selling club at the right price, a deal cannot be deemed dead.

Jorgensen chase

Chelsea are said to be interested in a deal to sign Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen. The Dane has become the Yellow Submarine’s number one over the last 12 months, battling through criticism and early mistakes to earn his reputation of being one of the best rated young goalkeepers in Spain.

Jorgensen, who was one of the stars of the recently released Netflix documentary La Liga All Access, recently signed a new contract with Villarreal, increasing his release clause to £28.6million along the way. Chelsea already have Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic on their books, with Kepa Arrizabalaga set to leave, but they will need to convince Jogensen that he is better off as a number two or three at Stamford Bridge over starting every week for a Villarreal side that should be competing for Europe again this season after a turbulent campaign of last.

Jorgensen’s current contract keeps him at Estadio de la Ceramica until 2029, and while that release clause puts the ball in the player’s court to a certain degree, the Spanish club will not be interested in selling having released number two goalkeeper Pepe Reina over the summer, although they have landed Leganes goalkeeper Diego Conde as a potential replacement.

Crucially, Villarreal boss Marcelino came out in support of Jorgensen a number of times last season, with the two sharing a strong relationship.
