'We all want the same thing' - Chelsea star's wife speaks out after social media outburst

The wife of Thiago Silva, Belle Silva, has apologised after appearing to criticise Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino on social media.

The wife of Chelsea star Thiago Silva, Belle Silva, has taken to social media to issue an apology, after she published a post that appeared to call for the club's manager to be sacked.

In the post, Silva said that she was 'sorry' for her 'personal outburst as a passionate Chelsea fan', adding that 'we all want the same thing, a winning team'. Currently, the Blues are 11th in the Premier League with 31 points, having lost three of their last six games - including a damaging 4-2 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Silva, meanwhile, is also not having the best season of his career. He is still one of the Blues' top defenders, but alongside struggling options such as Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi, this is not saying much. So far this season, the 113-cap Brazilian international has made 27 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, scoring three goals - his current deal is set to expire in the summer.

What did Belle Silva write on her social media account?

In an apologetic post on X (formerly Twitter), Silva penned: "I'm sorry that my personal outburst as a passionate Chelsea fan has caused such an impact. I'm passionate about the team, I thrive on victories and I'm saddened by defeats. We all want the same thing, a winning team, come on Chelsea!!"

Previously, Silva had written a post that seemed to call for Pochettino's sacking, in which she said: "It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late." Despite Belle's apology, some Chelsea fans have stressed that she should have stuck by her comments. Pochettino is losing support at Chelsea in just his seventh month in charge - could it be time for yet another change of management at Stamford Bridge?
