One frustrated Chelsea fan called for Thiago Silva to be dropped but the Brazilian didn’t take too kindly to that opinion shared online.

Chelsea star Thiago Silva brilliantly schooled an aggrieved Blues fan who called for the centre-back to be dropped by Mauricio Pochettino following a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The visitors left Stamford Bridge 1-0 victors in a result that left Chelsea with just one win from their opening four Premier League fixtures and 12th place in the league.

The stuttering start after a big summer of spending has already put pressure on Pochettino and his squad at a club known for its ruthless impatience when it comes to managers and results.

Chelsea fan account @talkcfc_ shared its thoughts with their 53,600 followers on Instagram after the loss to Nottingham Forest and suggested that Silva should be dropped after the international break.

The account wrote: "This won’t go down well but I think it’s time to drop Thiago Silva... Playing him is becoming a problem because we have to play a back five to shoehorn him in.

"Playing four at the back will allow us to be better going forward and I don’t think we’ll suffer much at the back. Nothing but respect to Thiago but I think we’d be better off without him at the minute."

Despite the user's claim of respect, the Brazilian wasn't too happy when he came across the post online and took the unusual decision to hit back at the supporter.

Visiting the post's comments section, Silva wrote: "If you look closely at the game, we are playing with a line of four my friend! But there's no problem in assuming that I'm also responsible for the defeat. put the pressure on me, no problem yesterday!"

It's been a new-look Chelsea set-up under Pochettino this season with a confusing formation looking to feature three centre-backs and two wing-backs. However, when on the pitch, players fulfil different roles with Ben Chilwell playing almost as an out-and-out winger and Levi Colwill operating as a full-back, making it four defenders in the line rather than five.

Silva's response to the Chelsea fan garnered over 5,500 likes online and other fans flocked to share their love for the experienced defender and disagree with the original message.
