Chelsea star confirms he's staying at the club this season despite £12m arrival for competition

Chelsea star Marc Cucurella has confirmed he’s happy at the club when asked about the possibility of returning to La Liga after excelling with Spain during the ongoing Euros in Germany. The Chelsea star has picked up from where he left off at Stamford Bridge, starting every game for Spain at the Euros as they surge towards the title.
Cucurella’s turnaround has been nothing short of remarkable, as he struggled in the first season after Chelsea broke the bank to sign him for £60 million in 2022. Last season, he came close to joining Manchester United, but he’s currently considered one of the unsellable stars going into the season.

He said in the press conference after the win against Germany: "La Liga is my home, but I am very happy in England, which is a great experience for me and my family."
There is renewed competition for Cucurella to fight off, with Chelsea signing promising left-back Renato Veiga from FC Basel for £12million. Ben Chilwell is also still at the club, having battled injuries. Chelsea have the Europa Conference League to add to the league, FA Cup, and League Cup competitions, so they will welcome the depth.
In what has been a remarkable start to the transfer window, Chelsea have already added Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to the squad, which impressively finished sixth after spending large parts of the season in 11th.
On the exit front, they have confirmed Ian Maatsen, who spent the second half of last season out on loan at Dortmund, has joined Aston Villa, with Omari Hutchinson also leaving the club permanently and returning to Ipswich Town, where he excelled and helped them to Premier League promotion.
