The cogs have begun to turn in recent weeks for Chelsea following the arrival of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly and it appears likely there will still be a number of new signings made before deadline day.

While the main focus has been on rebuilding the defence, the Blues are eagerly searching for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku and it has been claimed they are targeting a striker from their local rivals.

According to journalist Christian Falk, Tottenham’s Harry Kane is ‘very interesting’ for Chelsea and are considering making a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku’s departure means that Chelsea’s only natural strikers are Timo Werner, Michy Batshuayi and Armando Broja.

Kane’s unbelievable goalscoring record is exactly what Thomas Tuchel’s side need in their new era under Todd Boehly and the England international would no doubt obliterate their horrible striker ‘curse’.

The 28-year-old has bagged 180 goals in eight Premier League seasons with Spurs and is now regarded as one of the world’s best.

While it was made clear that he was keen to leave Tottenham when he came close to joining Manchester City last summer, Kane has since mended his relationship with the fans and looked likely to remain at his boyhood club.

If Chelsea were to snap up Kane then it would give them a huge boost in chasing the Premier League title, however the move seems very unlikely this summer.

According to the report, Antonio Conte’s would prefer to sell to a club outside of England if Kane was to leave and they are likely to place another very high price tag on his head to ward off any interest.
