Chelsea will have little time to recover as they face a tricky visit to the Molineux Stadium to face Julen Lopetegui’s Wolves at the weekend.

Blues interim manager Bruno Saltor saw his team play out a tame 0-0 draw with Liverpool at home and in all honesty they should have taken all three points having enjoyed the best chances in the game while Liverpool were limited to half chances.

Wolves grinded out a 1-1 draw with fellow relegation threatened Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and know that it’s tight at the bottom of the Premier League table, with any slip proving to be potentially significant in the fight for survival.

Against Liverpool, Chelsea saw the return of N’Golo Kante, the French midfielder starting his first league game in seven months and left the pitch to standing ovation.

They will likely have Mason Mount who was seen working on his fitness after the Liverpool game, looking to sharpen his fitness ahead of the visit to Wolves.

Mount has not been involved in games recently due to illness, injuries and a reported contract situation that might be affecting his playing time, but the visit to Wolves presents an opportunity to get some minutes and work his way back helping the team on the field. Chelsea are 11th on the league table, 11 points from fourth-placed Tottenham with just nine games to end the season.

They also have a tricky Champions League encounter against Real Madrid which will be hugely season defining and has the potential to determine how the search for a new manager will ultimately end.
