Chelsea have been sent a teasing update by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano over a potential January transfer for talisman Victor Osimhen, despite the striker completing a loan move to Galatasaray from Napoli on Deadline Day last month.

The Serie A giants had slapped a £113 million asking price on the player, who has 76 goals in 133 appearances for the club, which is based on a release clause in a contract signed last December.
However, a deal couldn't be completed and Napoli failed to cash in on their star, instead shipping him out to Turkey on a season-long loan deal. Despite committing to Galatasaray for an entire season, there has been some murmurs that Chelsea could launch a January raid for the player.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Romano has responded to the speculation. While the transfer specialist didn't suggest that move was underway, he appeared to hint that it could be possible to see ‘developments’ despite Osimhen's current loan commitment.

“I’ve been asked about reports on Osimhen possibly moving for just £40m this January, with Chelsea said to be working on this deal behind the scenes.
“However, I can honestly say that nothing is happening now regarding Osimhen. I’ve said many times recently that Chelsea’s interest remains and they still like the player, but there are no negotiations ongoing and it would be disrespectful for Galatasaray as they paid important money to land Osimhen on loan. So it’s all quiet for now, and once we get closer to January we will see the developments.”
Since moving to Turkey, Osimhen has bagged two goals and four assists in four appearances. He has scored or assisted in every game he has played in, bagging a brace against Kasimpasa last time out.
