Both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur picked up wins on Saturday afternoon - albeit by the finest of margins.

The Blues had to wait until the 88th minute for Kai Havertz’s decisive strike in a 2-1 win over West Ham, and even then Thomas Tuchel’s side had to survive a controversial later VAR call to seal all three points.

For their part, Spurs also had to hang on for a 2-1 victory against newly-promoted Fulham.

And with another weekend of Premier League action coming to a close, focus can once again switch to some of the transfer speculation doing the rounds in both north and west London.

Check out the latest rumours below...

Ultimately, the Blues stopped short of tabling an official bid for the 24-year-old, but were alerted to his potential availability when it became apparent that Brugge did not have the financial capabilities to seal a deal.

Malinovskyi deal could still happen

Tottenham could still complete a deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi in January, according to the Fabrizio Romano.

The Ukrainian was perpetually linked with a move to north London this summer, while furher interest also came from French outfit Olympique Marseille.

And despite Atalanta holding firm in their desire to retain Malinovskyi’s services in recent weeks, Romano has claimed that the possibility of a transfer this winter still reains.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, he said: “Tottenham and Olympique Marseille wanted Ruslan Malinovskyi on loan with buy option.

“Player’s dream was to join Spurs but Atalanta president Percassi decided not to sell him.

“Situation remains open for the next year.”

Chelsea fail with Lavia bid

The Belgian has seemingly caught the eye of Stamford Bridge chiefs already too, with a big money offer rejected for the youngster on deadline day.

But Romano has also hinted that a deal could be struck for Lavia in the future.

Writing in a column for Caught Offside, he said: “One of the surprise stories of Deadline Day was that Chelsea made a £50m bid to Southampton for Romeo Lavia.

“The answer from Southampton was ‘no’, but Chelsea really tried.

“Man City were not involved, but they have a £40m buy-back clause. Still, Southampton will not sell Lavia until June, despite Chelsea’s strong interest.

“He’s started well with Southampton and looks like a big prospect for the future, but this was certainly a surprising Deadline Day story.

“If Lavia carries on performing as he has, then it surely won’t be the last we’ve heard about him in terms of big clubs pursuing him in the transfer market.”
