Chelsea £526m-rated starting XI if January transfer rumours come true amid mass exodus talk
Enzo Maresca could allow several first team stars to leave Stamford Bridge this January in search of game time.
Chelsea could allow a mass exodus of players this January with reports that Enzo Maresca could green light several high profile exits before the end of the month.
The former Leicester City manager has made trimming down a lengthy Blues squad a priority in his first season in charge and that approach has reaped benefits in results so far. Maresca has not hidden the fact that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka are not in his immediate plans with West Ham supposedly eyeing up a transfer.
Meanwhile, Cesare Casadei is expected to complete a move to the Serie A. Those outgoings could free up budget for incomings and LondonWorld looks at how the Chelsea starting XI could shape up at the end of the window, if current rumours are true - market values as per Transfermarkt.
GK - Robert Sanchez, £17m
Enzo Maresca doesn't appear to have fully settled on a first choice shot-stopper with Filip Jorgensen impressing when given the chance. There had been some talk of investment in the shot-stopping position but that has since died down, which makes sense with a £21 million back-up on the bench.
LB - Marc Cucurella, £25m
The charismatic Spaniard is always in the thick of it for Chelsea, whether it's the good or the bad. He's made 21 appearances across all competitions this season and his stock has risen since the Euro 2024 win with Spain last season.
Chelsea join transfer race for Marc Guehi
CB - Marc Guehi, £38m
The Premier League's most in-demand centre-back, Chelsea aren't the only suitors for Crystal Palace defender Guehi. Injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile have highlighted the need for investment in this position with the BBC reporting the Blues' interest in re-signing the Eagles man.
CB - Levi Colwill, £46m
Going from strength to strength under the stewardship of Maresca. Has played 90 minutes in all but one Premier League match this season and his consistency at the heart of defence is key for Chelsea.
RB - Malo Gusto, £29m
A real threat driving forward from the back, the 21-year-old can be caught out defensively but remains one of the first names on the team sheet with Reece James injured. Has made 19 appearances in all competitions this term.
CDM - Kobbie Mainoo, £46m
Sensational transfer links this week suggest that Chelsea could poach rivals Manchester United and snap up academy product Mainoo as contract talks stall at Old Trafford. The Daily Mail led those reports but it is believed the Red Devils are confident they will hold onto their talent.
CDM - Enzo Fernandez, £63m
Regularly captains the side and has offered plenty all over the pitch this season. His fine form led to the stunning run of Chelsea form in December - Fernandez registered three goals and four assists in six outings.
Chelsea linked with £48m swoop for Nico Williams
LW - Nico Williams, £58m
There's no shortage of interest in the talented Athletic Bilbao winger. Arsenal had been considered frontrunners but The Sun claims that Chelsea and Liverpool are also weighing up a move for Williams, who has an enticing £48m release clause in his contract.
CAM - Cole Palmer, £108m
Still very much the main man for Chelsea. The former Manchester City playmaker is already on 13 goals and six assists this season as he earns a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the world.
RW - Pedro Neto, £46m
Not quite nailed in the starting XI with Noni Madueke also playing on the right wing, but Neto's versatility to play on either flank has earnt him minutes. Chelsea paid £54 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge last summer.
ST - Dušan Vlahović, £50m
Similarly to the goalkeeper position, Maresca has two strong options to lead the line for Chelsea but doesn't seem set on either Nicolas Jackson or Christopher Nkunku. CaughtOffside this week report that Juventus talisman Vlahović has been offered to Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United this month with no new contract signed in Italy.
