Chelsea 'prioritise' deal for Euro 2024 superstar as Tottenham 'submit bid'

Chelsea and Tottenham are already hard at work preparing for the new season, with pre-season training well underway and pre-season trips abroad just around the corner. The Blues and Spurs will have to wait to get many of their internationals back, but preparations will continue without them for now.
In the meantime, both clubs will be working on new deals having both made early signings already this summer. With that in mind, we have rounded up the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding both clubs.

Chelsea are still said to be in the race to sign Athletic Club and Spain star Nico Williams. Links have cooled of late due to Barcelona seemingly moving ahead in the race. But Sport have reported that the Blues are still ‘prioritising’ a deal for the standout Euro 2024 winger.
Williams has a £48.6million release clause at Athletic Club, but with strong emotional ties and with his brother also playing for the club, it will be no straightforward decision for him. Chelsea, meanwhile, need to sign a striker, and they will have to be careful of their spending this summer.
Pochettino linked with new job
Former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a new job after his departure from Stamford Bridge earlier this summer. According to Ole, Pochettino is a potential candidate for the USA job following the sacking of Gregg Berhalter.
USA disappointed at Copa América, crashing out at the group stage, and they are determined to get things right ahead of hosting the World Cup in two years’ time. Pochettino could now be an option for them as they look to invest to increase their level of success over the coming years.

We know there have been ups and downs but we always believed in this team and that we would arrive at a consistent level. I believe the experiences of this season and big improvement we saw, I hope will only make the players stronger for the future. It has been a pleasure to work with them all and we appreciate the strong bonds we created in this last year together.”
Chiesa ‘bid’
Tottenham are said to have submitted a bid to land Juventus wide man Federico Chiesa. According to Area Napoli, the Old Lady have now received a bid for the Italy international, and it’s speculated that the bid has come from Spurs.
Juventus are said to be asking for just £25million to complete a deal, making it a bargain deal for any potential buyer. Ange Postecoglou is said to want a new winger this summer to add competition for Dejan Kulusevski, who struggled with form last season. Chiesa is only under contract until 2025, meaning Juve are unable to drive a hard bargain this summer.
