Chelsea predicted XI vs Blackburn: Reece James and Badiashile start but Pochettino tries a new system

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino likely to give Reece James and Benoit Badiashile who are both fit for the game.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino now has a job on his hands to make sure that he doesn't follow in the footsteps of the likes of Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.

They have lost their mini-winning run to Brentford and the fans made their views felt when they booed the team off the pitch so expect the atmosphere to be edgy if things get worse on Wednesday night.

The Blues will hope this is a straightforward win that gives them some confidence going into the game against Tottenham next Monday night.

Winning any trophy will be seen as a success so expect the Blues manager to put an absolute premium on this game especially coming from that defeat against Brentford.

There are a few of the Chelsea players who will be hoping to use this game to prove their fitness, including captain Reece James who has been introduced from the bench in the last two games from the bench.

He’s now likely to get his his first start since the opening day of the season as well as Benoit Badiashile who has also recovered from his hamstring injury and will be hoping to get going.

Pochettino has won all the cup games so far expect Chelsea to get this done even though they have shown in the league that low blocks could be real hard work for his team.
