Chelsea predicted starting XI vs Everton as West Ham defeat boosts Pochettino's European ambitions

Chelsea looking for a win that will boost their European ambitions ahead of a thrilling end to the season.

Chelsea will hope to begin their journey to a special end to a challenging season by beating relegation-threatened Everton who will be buoyed on by the adversity of another points deduction last week.

Sean Dyche’s side are just are just two points off the drop zone and with Luton Town fighting for their lives, and Nottingham Forest improving, The Toffees know a defeat at Stamford Bridge could be disastrous.

For Chelsea, the season so far has been defined by dropped points against teams in the bottom half of the table, especially at home. Burnley got something from Stamford Bridge, Nottingham Forest got everything here earlier in the season and so did Brentford

Manager Mauricio Pochettino knows that they will have to improve if they are to secure European football next season with competition for places incredibly tight and hard to call.

Historically, Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 28 home league games with Everton, winning 15 and drawing 13 with Everton's sole Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge coming in November 1994.

The visitors however arrive in west London with their tails up having ended their 13-game without a win last weekend. They beat Burnley 1-0 and will now look to at least pick up a point against Chelsea who have been incredibly inconsistent this season.

This has the look of an incredibly tight game with both teams fighting to end an undulating campaign on a high. So with what is at stake, this is the Chelsea team we anticipate Pochettino will name.
