Chelsea 'plotting' sensational transfer swoop for Tottenham Hotspur icon

Chelsea could make a stunning transfer move for a Tottenham Hotspur legend in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly plotting a massive move in the summer transfer window - they have been linked with a sensational swoop for former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, as they look to bring a world-class striker on board.

This is according to a report from Football Insider, who mention that the Blues are 'monitoring' Kane at the moment. Rumours are circling of the 30-year-old being unhappy in Germany - due to this, he may be open to the idea of a return to the Premier League.

While Kane does not align with Chelsea's transfer policy, as they prefer to sign younger players, he would undoubtedly be a great player to bring on board. Despite Bayern Munich's disappointing campaign, Kane has been the star of the show for them so far. As things stand, he has scored 25 goals in 22 Bundesliga games - he's also racked up five assists.

How would Harry Kane improve the Chelsea squad?

It cannot be overstated - bringing Kane to Stamford Bridge in the summer would completely revolutionise Chelsea's outfit. The Blues have long been crying out for an out-and-out centre forward to provide an attacking focal point - few players provide a better focal point than Kane.

Not only is he an excellent goal scorer, evidenced by his record in the Premier League and the Bundesliga, he's also a brilliant passer and can hold up the ball to allow his teammates to explore the space. With superstar wingers such as Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke at his side, Kane's true potential could be unlocked if he makes the audacious jump to Chelsea.

Additionally, Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is very familiar with Kane, having spent several years coaching him during his time at Spurs. As such, the Argentinian should, in theory, be able to get the best out of the 89-cap England international.
