Chelsea player ratings vs Wolves: 'Woeful' 4/10 and 'disappointing' 5 in another defeat

Chelsea's woeful form on the road continued with another defeat at the Molineux.

Chelsea suffered their eighth league defeat following a 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty were the scorers for Wolves, while Christopher Nkunku reduced the deficit late on for the west London club.

Raheem Sterling had the best chance of the first half when he broke through with just Wolves defender Craig Dawson and three supporting cast from his team, but the Chelsea forward shot tamely into Jose Sa in post for the host.

That miss will set the tone for his afternoon where he shone bright when taking on his man, but just never looked like scoring. Mauricio Pochettino would have been thinking of changes when Mario Lemina's well-placed header beat Djordje Petrović but the injury to youngster Lesley Ugochukwu, starting in place of the sick Moises Caicedo, sped up things and he brought on Christopher Nkunku and took off the quiet Armando Broja for midweek hero Mykhailo Mudryk.

More changes would be made with Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke and Ian Maatsen thrown in as Pochettino desperately went in search of an equalising goal.  But it was the home side who sealed the game after a mistake from Badiashile presented the perfect opportunity for Matt Doherty to score the second and secure all three points for his side.

Christopher Nkunku scored late on to threaten a fightback and possibly earn a point, but it only served as a consolation for the visitors. In what was another disappointing afternoon for Pochettino's side, here is how we rated them at the Molineux.
