Chelsea player ratings vs Everton: seven 5/10s and one 'shocking' 4/10 in another defeat

Chelsea have now won only one of their last seven Premier League games.

A goal each from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin handed Everton a 2-0 win over Chelsea and condemned Mauricio Pochettino's side to their seventh league defeat of the campaign.

The two-time Champions League winners started the game looking determined and ready for the fight with Mykhailo Mudryk, starting ahead of Raheem Sterling, looking bright and taking on his marker. Armando Broja who had also started ahead of Nicolas Jackson was holding up the ball well upfront even if they never really worked Jordan Pickford in post for Everton.

Sean Dyche set up his team in a typical 4-4-2 system, compact in the middle and containing the visitors while looking dangerous whenever they broke on the counter. Both teams had chances in the first half but Abdoulaye Doucoure's early second-half strike broke the deadlock and set his side on their way to a third consecutive win.

Chelsea had lost captain Reece James to another hamstring injury and Conor Gallagher who took over the leadership role came close to equalising midway through the second half but still, Pickford was equal to his effort with a brilliant save.

The visitors dominated possession and pushed for an equaliser late on but Everton's defensive organisation and resilience meant Mauricio Pochettino's team were always vulnerable when Everton attacked and Lewis Dobbin doubled the score late on for his side after a layoff from a corner kick to seal an important win.

This was Chelsea's ninth game without keeping a clean sheet and the pressure is beginning to pile on manager Pochettino.
