Chelsea player ratings vs Brighton: 'Unstoppable' 9/10 and sloppy 4/10 in impressive 4-2 win
Cole Palmer produced an unstoppable performance, scoring four goals to help Chelsea secure a 4-2 win against a previously unbeaten Brighton side. It was an impressive afternoon, especially considering Chelsea had to come from a goal behind to take control of the game. As with their previous two matches, once they went ahead, the game was essentially over.
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was perhaps at fault for both Brighton goals. He rushed out for the first and under-hit a pass that led to the second, but it didn't matter as Cole Palmer ensured Chelsea recorded their first home league win, four straight wins, and most importantly, three points that lifted them to second in the league table.
Below is how we rated the Chelsea players:
Robert Sanchez - 4

Hide AdA real howler for the first Brighton goal, followed by an even bigger mistake for Brighton's second. A sloppy afternoon for the Chelsea number one.
Marc Cucurella - 6
Needed treatment after the first Brighton goal. It was a tough day dealing with Brighton’s press both out wide and in the middle, but he did a solid job overall.
Malo Gusto - 6
Had a tough day against the in-form Mitoma but held his own. Looked good when he drifted inside.
Wesley Fofana - 6
Jittery at the beginning, but once he found his rhythm, he played incisively and was a threat from corners all afternoon.
Levi Colwill - 7

Hide AdTasked with marking Danny Welbeck. Smartly gave himself space when contesting headers. One of Chelsea's most improved players—strong when needed and very composed with his distribution.
Enzo Fernández - 7
Not often in possession, but when he did get on the ball, he used it effectively.
Moises Caicedo - 7
Hardworking off the ball and showed quality in possession.
Cole Palmer - 9
A special player capable of winning games single-handedly. Scored four times and dictated the game at his own pace.
Nicolas Jackson - 6
Quick thinking led to Palmer’s first goal. Would have loved to get on the scoresheet himself, especially with competition for places heating up.
Noni Madueke - 6

Jadon Sancho - 7
Won a penalty. Slippery on the ball and, at times, unplayable. Controlled the tempo with intelligence.
Pedro Neto - 6
Showed flashes of his quickness, but nothing significant beyond that.
Renato Veiga - 6
Versatile and strengthened the backline when he came on.
Romeo Lavia - 6
Solid and made good use of the ball during his time on the pitch.
