Kepa Arrizabalaga -7

Brilliant save with little time to deny the superb Mitoma midway through the first half. Then produced another world class save to deny Ferguson with a header. The Spanish goalkeeper was captain for the first time in his Chelsea career and produced a great performance. Not much he could do about the two goals conceded.

Wesley Fofana- 5

A strong challenge to stop the marauding Mitoma early on to get the crowd cheering. Didn’t do much wrong before being subbed with Madrid in mind.

Trevoh Chalobah- 5

Showed great technical awareness to step into midfield and drive his team forward in the first half. Didn’t do too bad also holding up Mitoma, but ultimately was part of a defence that conceded twice.

Ben Chilwell- 4

Had a nervy start and didnt look entirely convincing when defending 1v1 against Solly March. Quiet game for the often reliable left back.

Benoit Badiashile- 5

Strong block to stop deny Welbeck getting a shot in. The second half was mostly all Brighton so he needed his concentration spot on all game. Tough game.

Enzo Fernandez- 6

Very calm in possession and always had an eye on intercepting play. Replaced in the second half with Madrid in mind.

Denis Zakaria- 5.5

A rare start for the midfielder, didn’t do too bad but with Brighton seeing much of the ball- he was left to chasing alot of shadows. Defensively very good in the second half.

Conor Gallagher- 6

Ended Chelsea’s six-hour goal drought by forcing home the first goal of the game. Pressed well too and could have scored late on.

Mykhailo Mudryk-5

Bright start to the game. Brought a brilliant save out of Sanchez in the second half.

Raheem Sterling -2

Barely had a touch.

Christian Pulisic- 4

Fortunate not to give away a penalty in the firstb half. Didn’t have a an impactful game.

Reece James- 3

Struggled all game after coming.

Ziyech -3

Didn’t have any impact in the game.

Kovacic -2

Not enough power.

Joao Felix -3

Headed wide from a corner.

Mason Mount -N/A
