Chelsea player ratings vs Brighton: Three players score 7/10 as 10-man Blues record vital win

Chelsea had captain Conor Gallagher sent off but held on to record their fifth league win of the campaign.

Chelsea had a man sent off but held to win 3-2 against Brighton and Hove Albion in a classic Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took the lead through Enzo Fernandez who reacted quickest after a Benoit Badiashile ball back in to score his first Premier League goal and settle the nerves that were growing at the Bridge.

Three minutes later Levi Colwill who was starting only because Marc Cucurella was suspended scored from a similar ball, this time, Nicolas Jackson the player to keep it alive.

The Blues had won only one of their last 14 league games at Stamford Bridge but they were cruising here before Facundo Buonanotte drifted in from the right to score, making it 2-1, game on.

The game then turned again minutes later when Chelsea had Conor Gallagher sent off- the second game running that they'd have a captain sent off. Over-all a game of booksing with nine cards shown.

Brighton made changes in the second half to try and take advantage of their man advantage, but Mykhailo Mudryk's lightening speed brought a penalty from substitute James Milner to restore Chelsea's two-goal advantage.

Joao Pedro then scored late on to make it 3-2 and set up a nervy end to the game- but despite a late penalty claim, Chelsea held on to see out their second home league win of the campaign.

This wasn't the best display but after that outing against Newcastle- a win restores confidence going into the game against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Here is how we rated every Chelsea player out there today.
