Kepa Arrizabalaga-5

The Chelsea number one didn’t have much to do in the first half but pulled off two routine saves from Vinicius and Modric when called on. Not much he could have done about the goals he conceded.

Enzo Fernandez-5

Typical Enzo performance where he kept to his job without necessarily ceasing the game and making it his own.

NGolo Kante- 5.5

Miss kicked the game’s first real chance. Stepped up is performance after that and was first to almost every ball as Chelsea went in search of a goal. Missed another chance in the second half even though credit to Militao for a great block.

Mateo Kovacic- 4

Effective and efficent on and off the ball, only if Kova could finish or even create some goals.

Reece James- 5

Impressive start to the game with speed, technique and real commitment. Faded in the seond half especially after the first Madrid goal.

Trevoh Chalobah-3

Playing on the left side of a three man defence, he was caught out a few times in the first half. Also Caught out badly by Rodrygo after deciding to dive in instead of stay on his feed for in a 1v1 situation.

Kai Havertz-4

Stayed in the game without necessairly being dominant or chasing some form of chaos for Madrid.

Thiago Silva-5

Booked in the first half and used his experience to keep Karim Benzema quiet for most of the game. Like most of his teammates, faded in the second half.

Wesley Fofana- 4

The former Leicester City man won most of is 1v 1 duels with the rapid Vinicius Junior in the first half. His influence dwindled after Madrid ceased the game in the second half.

Marc Cucurella- 5.5

Got the game’s best chance in the first half after being set up by Reece James late on. He should definitely have done better. Credit to him, he didn’t let that affect his game.
