Chelsea player ratings: Lukaku and Mount brilliant but injury to Kovacic rocks Blues in Leeds win

Chelsea secure vital3-0 away win against Leeds United to ease recent slump ahead of Liverpool.

Mason Mount got his 13th goal of the season inside the first three minutes of the game to kill the atmosphere of the home fans at Elland Road and set Chelsea on the way to an important win.

The European Champions were aided by a reckless challenge by Daniel James who left too much on Mateo Kovacic, offering the referee with little choice but to send him off and almost kill the contest.

The Chelsea midfielder tried to continue but his knee would not just hold and he had to be replaced by Ruben Loftus Cheek half way through the first half.

Christian Pulisic then finished off a brilliant move to kill any fight Leeds would have planned in the second half before Romelu Lukaku finished off the night with his first and Chelsea’ third goal of the game.

What that results mean is that Chelsea are four points clear of fourth placed Arsenal who will take on Tottenham tomorrow night.

Romelu Lukaku who has had a difficult first season is ending it on form which would do his confidence a world of good going into his second season.

Here is how we rated every Chelsea player out there today.
