Chelsea were pegged back twice against a 10-man Burnley at Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer got the goals for the Blues but Josh Cullen and Dara O'Shea scored for the Clarets in the Spring sunshine in west London.
It took Chelsea a while to get going, 10 minutes before Enzo Fernandez forced a brilliant save from Arijanet Muric. But straight after that, Malo Gusto made a clever run and he was inches away before striker Nicolas Jackson missed another glorious opportunity to open the scoring.
Axel Disasi then popped up at the far post to head in a cross from Mykhailo Mudryk, but after a lengthy check, VAR ruled it out for handball. Chelsea though kept the momentum and Mudryk who was just a yard faster drew a foul from Lorenz Assignon.
It looked soft to the naked eye, but VAR after another lengthy check went with the on-field decision. In a moment of absolute chaos, Assignon was given his second yellow card for the challenge, manager Vincent Kompany was sent off for his insistent protest and Cole Palmer put Chelsea ahead with a panenka.
From there on Chelsea were in cruise control, but as has often been the case this season, they just never make things easy for themselves and a moment of real lapse in concentration from the entire backline, Josh Cullen struck an absolute beauty from outside the box to level things.
Palmer again stepped up when Chelsea needed him the most, connecting with a Raheem Sterling backheeled pass to finish beyond Arijanet Muric. But Chelsea again found a way to bring Burnley back into this one, this time goalkeeper Djordje Petrović letting a Dara O'Shea header through his hands.
Here is how we rated the Chelsea players out there:

3. Marc Cucurella- 5
Gave a way a few needless free kicks in the first half. Didn't do much in an attacking sense. | Getty Images

4. Benoit Badiashile-5
Rarely had a lot to do in that first half. Then even less to do as Burnley went a man down. | Getty Images
