Chelsea player ratings and photos vs Crystal Palace as Gallagher screamer gives Potter first win

Conor Gallagher returned to Selhurst Park to haunt Crystal Palace with screamer for Chelsea.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher stepped off the bench to score a last minute screamer and give his side all three points against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The game was tied 1-1 after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished off a brilliant move to cancel out an Odsonne Edourad goal for Palace.

Conor Gallaghe who scored eight goals for the Eagles last season while on-loan from Chelsea then bent over into the top corner with his right foot to condemn Crystal Palace to their second home defeat of the campaign.

Chelsea dominated proceedings and perhaps just about deserved the three points- but they rode their luck with controversy surrounding Thiago Silva who handled the ball while on the deck to stop Jordan Ayew going on goal, VAR had a check and decided that the referee was right.

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira complained about the decision to only punish Silva with a free kick and a yellow card -but the Brazilian will then dust himself up to provide the assist for Aubameyang’s goal that brought Chelsea back into it.

Raheem Sterling had a good chance in the first half to put Chelsea ahead of the Palace defence closed him down in what was a frustrating afternoon for the England star.

Palace also also Nathaniel Clyne to an ankle injury and having already been without Joachim Andersen who missed the game due to a calf problem.
