Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has strongly backed Trevoh Chalobah and says no one will decide his future for him amid talks that he will never play for the club.

There had been reports that he would never play for the club again after he turned down a move to join Nottingham Forest at the last minute on transfer deadline day but Pochettino says he is deep in his plans and will be involved once he’s fit enough to.

The Chelsea boss said: “Of course, he’s part of my plans, yes. I am Chelsea, I am the coach and his future is going to be involved in my plan no one is going to decide for me.”

Chelsea have brought in the likes of Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile added to the experience of Thiago Silva which has left Cobham graduate Chalobah outside and looking in.

But the Chelsea boss’s strong backing of him will give him the left he needs as he returns to first-team training in the coming days.

The Blues did the double against Bournemouth last season and that was the only game Frank Lampard won as interim Chelsea boss so it will be interesting to see how they navigate the game.

They will need to find the winning formula again even though their manager Mauricio Pochettino has not won an away game in the last 13 outings and his team hasn't kept a clean sheet in any of the last 14 away games.
