Chelsea waiting on Man Utd decision to make transfer push as 'official bid' received

Chelsea are back in action on Monday night when they take on London rivals West Ham in their bid to return to the top four. The Blues dropped out of the top four after their defeat to Manchester City, now chasing the Citizens and Newcastle United, although it is a closely-run race.

Garnacho latest

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho this month, but they are yet to make their move. The Blues were said to be jostling with Napoli for Ganracho, but it appears the Italian side are no longer in the race.

The Blues may have a clear run for Garnacho, but they may also be quoted a higher price given they are Premier League rivals to the Red Devils. According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are currently biding their time when it comes to Garnacho, waiting for the right time to strike.

Fresh Mainoo claim

Chelsea are also said to be interested in another Manchester United star, with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo having linked since the start of this month. And according to TeamTalk, the Blues remain interested heading into the final days of the transfer window.

United are unlikely to want to sell Mainoo this month unless they need to raise funds, which would make the midfielder a perfect candidate due to the fact his homegrown status means he would be pure profit as far as Profit and Sustainability rules go. Chelsea are said to be monitoring the situation and will move quickly if the opportunity does come up ahead of Monday night’s deadline.

Disasi latest

Chelsea are now said to have received an official loan proposal for Axel Disasi with the defender already said to have agreed on terms with Aston Villa. Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “Chelsea keep working on outgoings as Aston Villa have sent official bid for Axel Disasi.

“Loan proposal with fee + salary coverage, up to Chelsea. Lazio have still no full agreement on Cesare Casadei’s salary as of now while talks continue. More clubs also called Chelsea.”
