Chelsea make massive contract decision with striker kicked out to make room for £107 million new signing

Chelsea have infromed striker Aubameyang that he will not be in the Champions League second round squad following the arrival of Mikhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues blew almost £300 million on new players this winter and had to always get rid of someone to create space for the new signings in Europe’s elite companions where they will take on Dortmund.

Aubameynag who was signed by former manager Thomas Tuchel hours before his sacking was informed of the decision to leave him out of the Champions league squad early Friday morning.

He has also been left out of the team that will take on Fulham in the Premier League later this evening in a decision that all but signals the beginning of the end for the former Arsenal and Barcelona forward at Stamford Bridge.

His absence gives room for Mikhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez as well as new on-loan signing from Atletico Madrid Joao Felix.

In truth, the Blues had their hands tied with the clubs allowed to just register three players who were brought in in the winter transfer window.

All clubs are allowed to ink a maximum of 25 players, Chelsea used 24 players at the beginning of the season and the departure of Jorgino also created a space for another but manager Graham Potter wanted to have Joao Felix in so youngster Benoit Badiashile who was signed recently also misses out.

The decision meant Aubameyang has had to be the fall guy as the Blues look to go into a new era under new manager Graham Potter.
