Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Ajax to try and sign Ghana international Mohammed Kudus this summer.

Chelsea have turned their attention to Ghana international and Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus as they look to add bodies to their midfield and give manager Mauricio Pochettino the best chance to succeed next season.

The midfielder is on the books of clubs like Arsenal and Everton but it is Chelsea who have made the first move this summer by contacting the player and moving further to even begin talks of agreeing personal terms according to the Athletic.

Kudus was sensational for Ghana at the World Cup where he scored two goals and was by far the stand-out player for the Black Stars in Qatar. He also bagged 11 goals in 30 Eredivisie games last season and came close to joining Everton a season ago before the plugs were pulled on the deal.

This summer Arsenal have gone cold on him even though LondonWorld sources say he is still on the list of players Mikel Arteta is taking a close look at despite the arrival of Declan Rice.

Chelsea have made Moises Caicedo their prime transfer target this summer but Brighton are holding out for at least £100million or pushing to have defender Levi Colwill added to the deal before they sanction a sale.

The Blues have also been linked to Lyon’s Rayan Cherki but talks have stalled in recent weeks as the focus has switched to trying and get players Romelu Lukaku and Zakim Ziyech out of the door before incomings are sanctioned.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team are currently in Philadelphia where they will take on Brighton in the off-season Premier League series.
