Chelsea legend John Terry explains why it's 'great' to have both Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill at Cobham

Chelsea first-team duo Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer stayed behind after training to support the under-18s vs Norwich.

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has described Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer’s decision to stay behind and support the under-18s this afternoon as ‘great’ even though the Blues eventually lost to Norwich.

Colwill came through the Chelsea academy and would know the importance of supporting the next generation at Cobham, so he’s made it a point to watch them when they’re playing at home.

While Palmer who has been sensational since joining from Manchester City also continues to inspire the next generation both on and off the field.

Chelsea’s first team were at Cobham today preparing for the Premier League game against West Ham on Sunday, but the duo crossed over to the academy side to spur on players who will hopefully be the next superstars out of Cobham.

Terry captioned his post after the game on Instagram: “Great to have Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer watching and supporting our under-18s.”

In the past, the likes of Ashley Cole, Paulo Ferreira and Petr Cech all were constantly pictured watching the junior teams whenever they played games at Cobham.

The wait for the Under-18 Premier League Southern title continues

The game was far from plain sailing for the Blues who lost 2-1 and will now need two points from the remaining two matches to be crowned Champions of the Premier League Southern title.

Hassan Sulaiman’s side remain five points clear at the top of the under-18 league table with a comfortably better goal difference than second-placed West Ham United.
