Reece James is seeing a specialist to have his hamstring assessed after lasting less than 30 minutes against Everton this weekend. The Chelsea captain has played only eight matches this season, and could be set for some time on the treatment table again.
Mauricio Pochettino's team have lost back-to-back Premier League games and the Argentine manager will hope that Marc Cucurella, who also picked up a foot injury last weekend recovers for what is now a must-win game at home against Sheffield United this weekend.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is also a doubt having been battling with a knee injury he picked up against Manchester United, he started against Everton but had to be replaced by Dorde Petrovic in the second half at Goodison. These latest injuries add to those of Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Carney Chukwuemeka and Wesley Fofana as Chelsea battle to save their campaign and ensure they at least finish in a European for next year.
They have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine league outings and pressure is mounting on Pochettino who has managed just five wins in the 16 matches he has been in charge. The Blues have only won two games at home and the atmosphere is likely to turn toxic if they can't get all three points against Sheffield United.
So ahead of the game this weekend, below is the list of injured players and their potential return dates.
