Liverpool have been handed some worrying injury news ahead of their League Cup final clash against Chelsea on Sunday.

It's good news for Chelsea and bad news for Liverpool, with the League Cup final just around the corner - the Reds are set to be without both Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones when the two rivals come to blows at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Both Jones and Jota suffered injuries during Liverpool's 4-1 away victory against Brentford at the weekend. Jota, in particular, left the field on a stretcher - it is currently unclear as to how long the pair will be out of action for. The duo could prove to be major losses for Liverpool at the weekend, given their excellent recent form in the Premier League.

Of course, however, Chelsea still have their own injury troubles to contend with. Mercurial defender Thiago Silva is a major doubt - he will be a big loss if he does not play, given his composed demeanour and ability to hold the back line together with his influence.

Who else will miss out on the League Cup final for both Chelsea and Liverpool?

Liverpool may in the midst of an injury crisis - however, they have a very similar amount of injuries and doubts as the Blues. As well as Thiago Silva, Chelsea will be without Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Lesley Ugochukwu, Romeo Lavia and Marc Cucurella are all confirmed to be absent on Sunday.

Moreover, the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka and Robert Sanchez are both doubts. Sanchez could be fit to play, but Chukuemeka is likely to be an absentee for the League Cup final with a twisted ankle. Liverpool, meanwhile, will miss out on the services of Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Doak, Thiago Alcantara, Alisson Becker and Stefan Bajcetic. That isn't all - players such as Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai are also major doubts.
