Brighton and Hove Albion star Adam Webster is looking forward to seeing his former boss at the Amex just six weeks after he departed for Chelsea. The emotions are expected to be off the roof this weekend when Potter takes his unbeaten Chelsea side to the Amex where he was much loved and respected because of the amazing work he did there.

Marc Cucurella is also expected to play against the team he was an incredible asset for last season- but Brightonb are without a win under their new manager Roberto De Zerbi and will be desperate to show Potter that there is life despite his departure. One man who is grateful to the now Chelsea boss regardless of his decision to move to Chelsea in Adam Webster, the centre-back was signed by Potter and he played 93 games for him before they were separated. The 27-year-old says he owes a lot to Potter due to the fact that he was quite keen on signing him from Bristol in 2019.

The Brighton centre-back is quoted in SussexLive: “I owe him [Potter] a lot. He brought me to the club, which wasn’t a straightforward process. It took quite a long time as Bristol City weren’t playing ball, and many other managers would have moved on to their next target.

“Once I was finally here, he showed a huge amount of confidence in me and I played a lot of games under him.He always gave me that trust out on the pitch and it wasn’t just him, it was Billy, Bruno, and Bjorn.

“Lots of hours were spent on the training pitch, while off the pitch, there were reviewing clips, which helped me so much and helped all the boys over the past three or so years.”

Chelsea have firmed up in performances and results since Potter took over and have just topped their Champions League group.
